Given that Mpls is deemed the "economic engine" of the State, questions of how to improve its low ranking should be put forth to the Congressional, County and State candidates in upcoming forums and debates. The ongoing struggles that our city faces is beyond what the mayor can accomplish, especially(as the article states) the majority of city council members oppose all of his proposals regardless of their substance.

People have strong opinions about what is wrong, but few do anything about it. Extreme left and right are two sides of the same coin; self righteous noise, fury at the system, and zero positive action.

Too often when the fraud is discussed I hear back "no one should be a billionaire" as if the two are the same. There is a belief that earning money is worse than stealing it.

Personally, I think he was trying to attack/recruit/disempower our middle class - we're one of the few states that has a strong middle class. It's something that sets us apart.

The local vitriol for Frey almost universally comes from leftists in south Minneapolis under the age of 35, with a few exceptions here and there.
If Minneapolis had a leftist/socialist mayor, I think the online vitriol would be less, because the people least likely to support the mayor, would also be older and disinclined to mercilessly fight online with personal attacks. In other words, age is the problem, and we're seeing a generational shift in political power locally and nationally.
Agism is the latest DSA platform, vote everyone out of office with more than one or two terms. Shift the power completely to youth. Why not try to see people for they bring instead of separating us into different groups. We need leaders that have skills, and are willing to look at more than their own wants.
