DSA candidates run on the Democratic ticket; why don't Independents run on the Democratic ticket with fiscal responsibility and good governance as their standard bearer? This way, they'd be in the debates, on the primary ballot, get funding, and all the things that put up barriers as a third party.
It sounds like they really want to stay away from platform specific positions. And they don't want to be beholding to the litmus test and force by either party. And looking at their their website, they don't really list any specific positions on some of the current hot button issues of the day. Which is probably smart on their part
