Thank you for covering his candidacy. From experience (running 3 times in 3rd parties) I know that it is very hard to get media coverage unless you hail from the status quo duopoly.

"Newcome says he chose to run outside the Democratic and Republican parties because he believes meaningful reform is impossible within their structures" Yes! Well put!

I am a broken record repeating this. If the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results, this fully describes the hapless U.S. public (except for the 1/3rd who never vote having figured this out) who cling to their "lesser of two evils" paradigm and keep voting for what they believe is a "lesser" evil. How insane. Who wants to vote for ANY evil?

Best of luck to Mr. Newcome, it takes courage to run outside the two party industrial complex. I commend his messaging and rejection of the toxic politics that surround us. The president calling our fellow Minnesotans "garbage" and 99% of the MN GOP stay silent! Yes to the Forward Party for understanding that there needs to be a new path, forward.

I don’t mean to relitigate RCV here.

I have no idea if Newcome has the chops. Hypothetically if he did, this is a situation where RCV might provide a benefit. As it stands, slim to no chance he’s getting my vote. Probably won’t even bother to find out more about him, or other independents tossing their hats in the ring. I really, really, really don’t want Mike Lindell, Scott Jensen, Lisa DeMuth, etc. as my governor, and am not interested in throwing away my vote.

But yeah, I’ve seen some of the problems RCV has delivered for Minneapolis.

I hear you. Unless something radically changes before voting day. I'll be happy to cast my vote for Mike
